This wonderful GATECLIFF came from Oregon and is obviously authentic. It shows great overall patination and beautiful flaking. It is made from a fantastic colorful material we believe to be a form of western Jasper. It shows excellent mineral deposits and has no modern damage. Gatecliff points are Middle to Late Archaic in age, ranging from 3,000 to 5,000 years old! A gem grade point like this one is a must have for any authentic collection!
The last three pictures are of the board this point came off of. We did this to preserve collectors information, so you can see what all was on this specific board. Notice in the third picture there are clean areas underneath the spot where the arrowhead was tied to the board with black string. This shows the length of time these points were on this board. Points from this collection were put on these boards between the 1930s and 1940s. The second picture shows the old label from the original collector. You are not buying the group of arrowheads on the board only the arrowhead pictured on its own!
 
COLLECTION HISTORY
 
I bought these points from the finders family. They were all collected in the 1940s or before. They were catalogued in 1957 by the original collectors family. Then they were put in storage until this year. At this point, the family contacted me to arrange the sale of the group. This group had some great pieces, including artifacts from seven different states and a few Canadian pieces. The entire collection will be pictured in our Web Museum (The Authentic Arrowhead Store) Collection section. These will be pictured here for the foreseeable future in order to preserve the history of the collection.
