This is a highly stylized 3/4 GROOVE AXE from the George Chadwell Collection. It was found in Decatur Co Indiana outside the town of Greensburg. The collection sold a few months back and a friend of ours got us a group of some of the nicer stuff that made it to the public. This Axe is no brainer authentic and shows nice use with great patination. It is made from a beautiful wirey Granite. It will free stand on both it's top and bottom. It has very nice polish, especially on the bit and in the grooves. It has a fantastic fluted top and faceted poll. There is no modern damage. This is a very cool Axe and it will make an awesome addition to any authentic collection.
